ManagementJay Itzkowitz, Advisory Board MemberJay Itzkowitz is head of Corporate Development at Cantor Fitzgerald, a recognised leader and expert in the specialized areas of equity and fixed income capital markets. Earlier, he was of counsel to Hogan & Hartson LLP. based in the firm's New York office. His practice focussed on corporate transactions with a particular focus on media and entertainment. Prior to joining Hogan & Hartson, Jay was the Senior Vice President for Mergers and Acquisitions of Vivendi Universal. Based in New York and Paris, he worked on the restructuring of Vivendi during its recent debt crisis and supervised the sale of a number of media and publishing assets. Jay served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Sky Global Networks. This appointment stemmed from his service as chief legal officer, based in London, of News International, the holding company for News Corporation's activities in Europe. In this role, Jay was involved in the acquisition and sale of a number of television businesses in Europe. He also served as a Director of News Corporation's pay-television business in Italy, Stream S.P.A., and as an alternate Director of its pay-TV business in the United Kingdom, British Sky Broadcasting Group, plc. Prior to moving to London, Jay spent eight years as the senior corporate lawyer of the Fox Entertainment Group, based in Los Angeles, and worked on most of the significant transactions which built the group through and including its initial public offering, including the acquisition of numerous television stations, the formation and launch of cable television channels including FX and the FOX News Channel, and the acquisition of International Family Entertainment, which became the Fox Family Channel. During this period, he also worked on many significant transactions for News Corporation, including its acquisitions of Star TV in Hong Kong, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and an interest in Madison Square Garden, the New York Knicks, and the New York Rangers. Earlier in his career, Jay was the Senior Vice President of Business and Legal affairs at Carolco Pictures, the producer of Terminator 2 and Basic Instinct. He began his career as an associate at a major New York law firm. Jay received his bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, from Harvard University and his J.D. from Rutgers Law School.
