Archie Galbraith, Advisory Board Member
Archie’s work over the last 10 years has focused on large-scale strategic and operational changes in large organizations, primarily in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors.
As a Partner with Accenture, London, Archie headed a series of business development initiatives across Europe, Canada and South Africa, involving opportunity assessment, product development and client servicing in the healthcare industry. These initiatives have ranged from delivering business strategy services to successfully pursuing market entry in new areas to the value of a £2-billion contract. He also led the efforts to establish Health innovation centers at Accenture.
As European Head of Healthcare, Archie led a senior executive team across Europe with a staff strength of 3000.
Since February 2006, Archie has operated as an independent consultant, working in health related industries with clients from the investment, technology and healthcare sectors. Archie’s experience in pharmaceuticals includes five of the world’s top 10 largest companies in sales- and delivery-based relationships. He has also been an advisor to the management board of the UK Medicines and Health Regulatory Agency.
Archie’s career in Accenture began in 1996 as a senior manager involved in post-merger integration and organizational development work with pharma majors including Johnson & Johnson, SmithKline Beecham and Wyeth.
His work in the healthcare sector began in 1993, when Archie joined NHS, Scotland, as a consultant and later moved on to become the deputy director of the internal consulting organization. Prior to this, Archie was a lecturer and researcher at the Universities of Bournemouth, Aberdeen and Staffordshire, UK for four years after obtaining his bachelor’s degree from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK in 1986.
